A partial lunar eclipse lasting just 12 minutes will take place on September 29, 2042. Only 0.3% of the moon will be partially eclipsed by the Earth's shadow making it the shortest partial eclipse of the 21st century and there will be no partial eclipse this narrow until a 12 minute eclipse on Dec 11, 2429. These partial eclipses are very rare.
